Lists allow you to visualize all of your project's tasks in the view of a List. Additionally, in order to boost efficiency, you and your team can create logical groupings for sets of tasks. Groups can be workstreams, sprints, or any logical way to categorize a set of tasks.
Sort tasks within a group
Within any task group, the default sort is in chronological order by Due Date, from Oldest to Newest, grouped first by open tasks (e.g., status is not complete), and then by closed tasks (e.g., status is complete). However, you can sort the tasks within a group in any of the following ways:
- Name A - Z
- Name Z - A
- Newest Due Date
- Oldest Due Date (default)
In order to sort, click the 3-dot in the right corner of the group. Then, click "Sort By", and select your preferred sort.
Move tasks to groups
Someones you'll want to move a task or set of tasks to a new group. Simply hover over the task you want to move, click the 3-dot to the right of the Task Name, and click "Move to Group". Select the group you want to move the task and the task will be moved.
Things to consider
- If the task has sub-tasks, both the task and all sub-tasks will be moved to the new group.
- If the task is a sub-task, the task will be outdented as a task in the new group.
Re-order groups
Hover over the group header section, open or closed. Then click, hold, and drag the group above or below other groups.
Rename groups
Click the 3-dot in the right corner of the group. Then, click "Rename Group". The group name will now be editable. After updating, to save, simply click elsewhere on the page.
Delete groups
If you are you a Project Owner and you want to delete a group you click the group 3-dot and select "Delete". Then, confirm you want to delete the group.
Things to consider
- if you delete a group, all tasks and sub-tasks within the group will be deleted permanently. If you do not want tasks or sub-tasks in the group to be deleted, it is recommended to move the tasks to another group.
